Help Us

Volunteering

Volunteering can be a very rewarding experience, whether it's just helping out at our support centre, meeting new clients or delivering leaflets and posters to GP surgeries, you are bound to be touched by the way in which people are dealing with their cancer diagnosis. We have a wonderful team of volunteers, but we always need more.

Volunteering provides a great opportunity to use your skills to benefit others whilst meeting new people and becoming a valued member of a team. If you or someone close to you has benefitted from the services offered by CancerWise, volunteering offers a chance to give something back.

What we offer volunteers

Induction

Volunteers have a thorough induction to the charity. This is a chance to learn about what we do and to check that volunteering at CancerWise is for you.

Training

All volunteers get training at induction.

Get-togethers

We hold regular volunteer team get-togethers where you can find out about any new developments.

How to help us

Help out at an event

CancerWise has a number of fundraising events throughout the year. If you have less time to give or do not want to make a regular commitment this is the volunteering opportunity for you! You can commit for as little as two hours once a year and still do a great deal in helping us raise funds for CancerWise.

Host an event

CancerWise is very lucky to be the beneficiary of many events organised by others. If you are interested in holding an event yourself or wish to be part of our volunteer fundraising team, please contact us.

Join the team

Opportunities exist for those with skills in administration, reception work and general office duties. We are also looking for qualified complementary therapists, counsellors and coaches to add to our team.

Become a Trustee

From time to time, we need to appoint Trustees and are particularly keen to recruit them. If you are interested in becoming a Trustee, please contact us for a copy of our Trustee recruitment policy and an application form.
