Richard Meredith
Chair
My professional career was in the financial sector working for a global consulting firm. Within the Charity sector I am Chair of Trustee of Chichester District Foodbank. I am also Chair of Governors at St Philip Howard Catholic School and a Director of a local resident’s association. My involvement with CancerWise goes back to 2017 as it where I felt empathy with the values and mission of the charity. I have seen the charity grow from strength to strength as we continue to provide invaluable support to those in need of our services, which we are always looking to evolve, to meet the needs of our client.
Keith Mitchelson
Fundraising Trustee
My professional career was in the financial sector including being chairman and managing director of a number of wealth management companies. I was also a director of a staff pension fund for a national Building Society. Within the Charity sector I have been a Trustee of the Friends of a major art gallery and a member of their audit and risk committee. I am currently chairman of a local resident’s association. My involvement with CancerWise was initially as a client. I was so impressed with their well-being programme together with the totally positive and professional approach of all the counsellors, therapists and staff. I was appointed as a Trustee in 2023 with the role of fundraising.
Alison Fox
Treasurer
I am a Chartered Accountant and have worked in financial services for many years focusing on consulting, internal audit and risk management. I was diagnosed with Non-Hodgkin Lymphoma in 2018 and have since undergone several rounds of different treatments. I was delighted to join CancerWise in 2019 as Trustee and Treasurer to support the valuable work they do supporting people and their families living with cancer in the Chichester area. In my role as Trustee, as well as having a financial and risk focus, I can also bring the perspective of someone living with cancer. I am also a Trustee for Carers Support West Sussex and sit on both their Finance & Risk and Operations Board Committees.
Emma Lochhead
Deputy Chair / Care Services
I am a former HR Director for Government Communication in the Cabinet Office, as well as Director of HR and Planning for the Great Ormond Street Children’s Charity. Since moving permanently to Emsworth a few years ago, I am now Chair/Vice Chair of the Aldingbourne Trust, Vice Chair for CancerWise and formerly sat on the Risk and Audit Committee for Pallant House Gallery. My connection to Cancerwise began in 2018 following family bereavement.
Charlotte Mance
Trustee
I am a local GP and had heard about the excellent support CancerWise provides families from my patients. The charity supported my family when my husband was diagnosed with advanced cancer and we were one of the first to benefit from child counselling. I am highly aware of how unusual CancerWise is in providing support to children whose parents have a cancer diagnosis. I was appointed as a trustee in 2025 and hope to support CancerWise as it continues to help those affected by cancer in our local area.
Anne Harling
Company Secretary
I am a chartered governance professional. Following my retirement, I was keen to use the skills and experience I have gained in a voluntary capacity. I was impressed by the
services that CancerWise offers, having previously in my careers worked at the Medical Research Council, and was delighted to be appointed Secretary to the Trust in Autumn 2025. My other voluntary roles include Secretary to another local Trust and helping on the engagement team at the Cathedral and children’s team at my local church. I am married to Richard and we have two children and 4 young grandsons.
